So my dds. Birthday is coming up. She wants a fully iced cake type thing...I have never done this before. However I have some lovely icing I can roll and do the majority of the cake with. What I need to know us how do I make that icing that's not butter icing, but not rock solid icing either? You know the kind that's crunchy on the outside but sort of softer in the middle?

Sorry I don't explain it well.....I will be using a piping bag for the edge of the cake. Thankyou.

Wedding cake icing ? The swirl things in the edges ??? That's royal icing - you can buy the mix in a box off most supermarket shelves and you add water and mix ....
