What is the nicest cake you have ever eaten or made? The one that the memory of it makes you salivate ...

Mine is Nigella's winter plum cake...(sorry can't do linky thing but google it and make it, I implore you)

I love coffee cake. And chocolate cake. And carrot cake. And lemon drizzle cake. And frangipani. And Lyons sponge cake. And Jaffa cake. I love all cake.

Oh,and cheesecake. Obv.

Ooh, i had some v nice squidgy chocolate cake at the weekend. Slightly orange-infused with extra whipped cream. I generally insist weekend activities for the DCs happen at places where cake can be purchased.
I have a day off on Friday. Suggestions of what I might bake??

I have cake friends over on Friday and am making Nigel Slater's coffee and walnut cake. A proper adults cake.

The best cake I have made is either Rachel Allen's Orange cake or Delia's Lime and Coconut. I also make pretty mean almond slices with plum jam.

The best cake I have ever eaten was at the Roald Dahl museum a few years ago - it was Lemon and Passionfruit. I have tried a few times to recreate it but never succeeded.
