the top of your madeira cake cracks. its my first time making a madeira cake and its all cracked and slightly pointed. i followed the recipe exactly and had the oven at the exact temp. where have i gone wrong??????

god how stupid do i feel!!!!!
ive baked it for dd birthday cake so to fondant ice it i assume ill need to cut the top off.....right????? or will i be BlushBlushBlush again. (obviously crumb coat first)
