Why isn't my crumble going brown?

It's been in the oven for nearly an hour now :(

I have just turned the oven up but hope this won't burn it...

I don't know, there wasn't any sugar in the recipe, not on the crumble part. I chucked some in (to the crumble) until it tasted sweet and also sprinkled some on the top before baking.

I did only have granulated, though.

What temp? It should only take about 35-40 minutes.

I say maybe not enough sugar. It'll probably taste okay though even if it isn't browned.

mine never really goes particularly brown

Started at about GM6 and it's now on about 7.5.

Oven is useless though, you always have to go 1-1.5 higher than you intend to.
