HI all, about 20 years ago I was given as a present a bottle of "Dows 1985 vintage port" and told it was not to be drunk for twenty years, god knows how it survived but it did and I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of selling such an item (port really not my tipple), its in a black pot bottle and I know it was about £60 when it was bought, cheers

No idea how to sell, but I'd worry that there might be rules and regs about selling alcohol yourself? Are you sure you don't want to drink it? I have had some fabulous vintage port - it is totally lush!

Think Decanter magazine has the latest auction prices for sales of vintage wines. Alternatively you could see what they are charging on online sites for wine sales.

Bonhams has got a wine sale coming up. Just for interest, a consignment of 12 bottles of 1985 port in original wooden case (but Warre not Dow) has an estimate of £320 - £380.

I also had a look at Dow. The only consignment is 12 bottles from 1960. Estimate £500 - £600.

some local auction houses do booze sales.....our one has a whiskey auction on today.

ostensibly dh is out waiting to bid on some mirrors, but he's already phoned to say he has got three fireplaces I'll be surprised if he makes it home without visiting the whiskey sale.
