Dominos Pizza, any good?

We have fairly recently acquired a Dominos Pizza near us and are thinking of placing an order this evening as a treat for the kids (honest ). Are their pizzas nice? Any recommendations? Also the three pizzas for £5 each deal, it says on-line that this is the 9.5 inch pizza, anyone know how that equates to small/medium/large etc as I would like to order on-line.

TIA.

I've only had a domino pizza once (and I am the Queen of Pizza)

It was

MrsSpoon · 11/02/2006 16:06

MamaG, was is too cheesy/greasy/doughy?

MamaG · 11/02/2006 16:08

There's no such thing as too cheesey for a pizza!!

I just found it was greasy (bleurgh) with a bit of a funny aftertaste.

NomDePlume · 11/02/2006 16:12

IME/IMO Dominos are expensive, nearly always late and grreasy. Yuck

MrsSpoon · 11/02/2006 16:14

Greasy, yuck, might stick with our usual pizza place then.

It's a franchise, so they're all different. But the one closest to us is rank. Pizza Hut all the way!

MrsSpoon · 11/02/2006 16:18

Do Pizza Hut deliver?

OP posts:
NomDePlume · 11/02/2006 16:22

my local Pizza Hut don't deliver, but they do do take-away

MrsSpoon · 11/02/2006 16:22

Ah, I've just Googled and Pizza Hut don't deliver in our area, collection only.

DH picked up a Pizza Hut pizza and it was very nice. Think I'll ask around locally before trying Dominos, see what everyone else thinks of the one round here.

Thanks for the advice!

We used to get pizzas delivered and they were ok but very pricey. We have discovered Asda's stuffed crust pizzas and we just buy those now - half the price too - so enough money left to buy another bottle of wine.

moondog · 12/02/2006 14:22

Nope
All those franchises use dog food as 'meat' topping..

What,you didn't know????!!!

mszebra · 12/02/2006 14:24

Years ago I was told that someone associated with the Domino's chain (co-founder?) donates a certain percentage of their profits to an anti-abortion group.

You may or may not feel comfortable about that.

littlerach · 12/02/2006 14:25

Much prefer our local "prpoer" Italian takeaway.

MrsSpoon · 12/02/2006 14:25

LOL Moondog! I had the veggie one so no dog food for me!

I don't normally eat pizza but often get the ASDA one for DH and the kids they always seem to like it.

Yesterday was a bit of a treat, we were supposed to have been going out but DS2 has an ear infection and we decided to stay in, get a DVD and slob in front of the telly with a pizza and wine, it was bliss.

That's interesting mszebra, never heard that before.

No proper Italian restaurants that do takeaway round here, although I agree the real Italian pizzas are much nicer. Although I'm supposed to be on a diet (ha!) and so no pizza is really the best way to be going.

Spoon,how are those nails btw????

MrsSpoon · 12/02/2006 14:31

LOL, I am sitting here chuckling!

Don't suppose the yeast in the pizza dough and the sugar in the wine helped the nails. However I think I must have the slowest growing toe nails (apologies to anyone who may be eating at the moment) in history. There is now about 4 mls of white at the bottom of the big toe that is affected and I can only presume that is healthy nail (I notice when you put the tea tree on healthy nail it turns it white, my feet as really gorgeous just now ) I can't see me having lovely feet by the summer at this rate but maybe next summer.

mszebra · 13/02/2006 20:46
