Big dark green leaf salad dressed with a flavoured vinegar, no oil, and a small grilled/poached chicken breast. Even a large portion of salad leaves will only amount to about 40cals, and 100g of chicken breast is @120cals.

NoWuckingFurries · 16/04/2012 13:14

Can you go for a walk this evening? Some kind of exercise to earn yourself some extra calories?

A big salad (leaves, tomatoes, cucumber etc) and lean protein (eg 75-100g chicken breast) and low fat dressing should just cover it!

Or (as I do) just go over and try to be more careful tomorrow Smile Don't be so hard on yourself says she who has just eaten a whole Easter egg

bibbitybobbitybunny · 16/04/2012 13:15

Crikey! I need to know what you had for breakfast and lunch Grin.

TheArmadillo · 16/04/2012 13:15

do some exercise to earn more calories - even just running up and down the stairs for 10 mins.

BonnieBumble · 16/04/2012 13:17

125 isn't really enough. I think you will have to go over your allowance today and plan ahead for tomorrow. If you have an extra 100-150 calories today it won't really make a difference.

How many calories are you allocated for today?

GwendolineMaryLacey · 16/04/2012 13:18

Sounds like my life at the moment :( I'd have a banana and go to bed early.

TheCunningStunt · 16/04/2012 13:18

Second the exercise...what did you eat for breakfast? And lunch? I have smaller ones of those and normal sized dinner...I have my fitness pal too...have for the last week or so and including what I am eating for dinner(chicken Korma) I still have 150 ish calories left out of my 1260.

Salad is a great idea...a cup of lettuce is something like 15....

sparkle12mar08 · 16/04/2012 13:19

30min walk at a fast pace to leave you nearly out of breath will earn you about another 125cals. Not much but enough to make a better meal. Ten mins of running up and down the stairs constantly at a good pace with no breaks will probably net you only about 60cals so you'd need to do a lot of it!

2 wholemeal rice cakes spread with about a table spoonful of peanut butter.

bibbitybobbitybunny · 16/04/2012 13:29

Seriously, I think you should allow yourself another 100 calories or so. Obsessive calorie counting messes with your mind and makes you fat.

MadameChinLegs · 16/04/2012 13:29

Had white toast and two fried eggs for breakfast and a cup of tea
Had three slices of naice ham, spoonful of coleslaw, three breadsticks and a spoonful of garlic dip and another cup of tea for lunch
Have had a can of coke which I am regretting now.
Was planning on stuffed chicken breast for dinner but thatll be way over
The programme said I should be eating 1300 cal a day. I will be going for a 30min round trip to the post office shortly so that may buy me a few eztra cals
How do people do this with a partner? I dont fancy making two meals and he will not be full off roasted veg
:(

Soup & salad?
And then a fresh start tomorrow..
I think part of the myfitnesspal thing is learning from days like this - I've found it easier to 'budget' calories over time as I've found lower cal alternatives I like. I now have soup or half a tin of beans for lunch most days, and porridge for breakfast, meaning I can still snack and have a decent dinner.

aftereight · 16/04/2012 13:39

P.s. I give my DH a larger portion/carbs whilst I eat the protein & veg but only a teeny bit of rice etc.

DressDownFriday · 16/04/2012 13:41

I've been using this app. I'm not looking to lose weight but maintain what I am now iyswim.

I have been to Pizza Hut for lunch and daren't input that Grin. Planning on a big salad for tea to balance it out.

It's certainly made me think about healthy choices when it comes to food.

nethunsreject · 16/04/2012 13:43

Just eat a healthy dinner and start again tomorrow, with better organisation!

No point starving yourself.

TheCunningStunt · 16/04/2012 13:47

That doesn't sound like too much really. I'd go over today if I were you and plan better tomorrow?

Maybe change breakfast? I had an English muffin with an egg "fried" in a spray of 1cal oil for lunch. Came to just over 200 calories.....medium egg...

member · 16/04/2012 13:48

I got DH to download it as well and he was so shocked by how much he was eating - he doesn't cook so he honestly had no idea what was in foods, how many calories were in olive oil etc - he thought olive oil was calorie free!! It is so much easier doing it together, especially as you can copy meals between friends on MFP so only one of us has to input a meal and the other can copy it across and alter the portion size to suit.

spewgloriousspew · 17/04/2012 09:54

Please, please don't calorie count obsessively. It's not healthy. I know first-hand where this can end up.

The art of sensible weight loss is to exercise and to eat healthily. I've recently lost a lot of baby weight just through regular exercise and sensible eating. OK, so it took a lot longer than starving myself (my previous weight loss technique of choice) but my body isn't shutting down this time and I'm no longer afraid of food.

I know this isn't what you came on to ask, but I really think it's important to have a healthy attitude towards food. Eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full. Meal plan, so you don't end up in a similar situation again.
