I started my baby on baby rice last week and he's now also eating pureed carrots, parsnip, banana. This may sound stupid, but I bought some conference pears, although they are not ripe and I was wondering if I cooked them would they be ok to eat?

just steam them till soft or boil gently, my dd loves buttnersquah and pear. butternut squash has lots of vitamin a and is easily digested - good first food. peel, core, cut into cubes and steam until nearly soft, then add peeled chunks of pear - really tasty.
my dd loves pear juice too and pear with bananna

I found that pear was often best cooked, with a little baby rice added. My two loved butternut squash, with onion when they were a little older.

Oh I could sing the praises of pear for hours. We've got a little tree in the garden and it's so sweet (to me) that DD has her first pureed fruit from the tree and then a year later was demanding whole pears from the same tree this September. We sat on the grass and ate them while they were still warm from hanging in the sun......yep chop in to chunks, steam and mash etc

thats so sweet!

ahhh wish i had a pear tree... wish i had a garden! ill have to make do with waiting for days the bloody pears to soften or my favourite "simply" fruits - they're lovely!

dd loved sweet potato & pear as well as butternut squash & pear, I used to boil pear gently too.
