Isn't it the mumsnet one?

Haven't made it in ages actually.

LesAnimaux · 13/04/2012 18:07

Yep, the MN one.

mamababa · 13/04/2012 18:09

Don't do Tana Ramsey's, it was easy but the crust didn't crust

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 13/04/2012 18:10

Don't tease us by saying 'the MN ine' and not post a link! That's just teasing!

mamalovesmojitos · 13/04/2012 18:24

Yy I found tana's one disappointing despite rave reviews online. I like Rachel Allens one here.

This was the middle tier of my wedding cake. You need to make butter icing (icing sugar, butter and lemon curd) to go in the middle. It was phenomenally moist and extremely lemony. I've had a million requests for the recipe.

For lazy people who cant' be bothered to look in the recipe section.

I can't understand the hoo-hah about the MN one. It doesn't give the tin size which is unhelpful, and it doesn't tell you to mix lemon juice and caster sugar for the drizzle which is the only way you get the essential crunchy top. The best thing about the whole Moldies affair was not having to endure posters constantly w*nking on about this bloody recipe and its perpetrator.
Why not try Nigella's version?

LesAnimaux · 13/04/2012 18:31

The tin size is the same as the one I always make square cake in.

Bluestocking · 13/04/2012 18:33

Stop it, Animaux, you'll go blind.

ivykaty44 · 13/04/2012 18:37

thanks mamaloves I will try the cake you have linked to

The Marslady lemon drizzle cake is divine, and remains my favourite.

Really want to make one now...!

mamalovesmojitos · 13/04/2012 18:39

Enjoy, it's delicious Smile.

ScrambledSmegs · 13/04/2012 18:41

There's a recipe for Moist Lemon Cake in a book I have called something like Perfect Cakes Every Time. It's absolutely the best lemon drizzle cake I've ever made or eaten, I'll try and dig out the book in a mo.

Heswall · 13/04/2012 18:43

I found the MN one too buttery. Nothing wrong with the M&S one if you ask me

OliviaLMumsnet · 13/04/2012 18:44

MarsLady's LDC I have had it made by the lady herself and it is AMAZING and now follow this recipe too and it has never failed me.
HTH

ivykaty44 · 13/04/2012 18:46

Hale - there isn't a size for the tin on the marslady recipe - would it be 20x20? Or 20x30

OP posts:
gothicmama · 13/04/2012 18:53

Experiment if you are not sure re tim size Marslady would have done

OctopusSting · 13/04/2012 18:58

This one is the best MN one. V Easy, light & fluffy whereas i find the Marslady one a bit heavy. I do put more lemon juice in and less milk though as i like it very zingy.

dementedma · 16/04/2012 14:31

will never make drizzle cake again after discovering "little lemon-ton" cakes in the lastest issue of "Good Food Magazine". Oh my word, lemony, moist and just divine.

LesAnimaux · 16/04/2012 16:29

Ivykaty - I use a square tin so I think it's 20X20cm

www.bbcgoodfood.com/search.do?keywords=lemon+cake&pager.offset=10

dementedma - I can't find that recipe!

dementedma · 17/04/2012 22:00

it's on page 68 of the April edition - they are gorgeous
