Has anyone got a tried and tested gluten free sponge receipe?

Is there a particular brand of flour that works best?

I have only tried this once - we have a child coming to DD2's party on Friday that needs gluten-free so I did a trial run - I used Doves Farm "Gluten- and wheat-free Self Raising Flour blend" in an ordinary recipe:

6oz flour
6oz marg
6oz caster sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp baking powder
5 tblsps milk (this flour substitute needs more liquid apparently)

Bung all in mixer and beat until light and creamy, put into 2 sandwich cake tins and bake 180 degrees C for approx 25 mins. Don't eat the cake mix raw, it doesn't taste the same as "normal" flour recipe!!

Cake came out just as usual, couldn't tell the difference really :)
