Peachclair,that sounds so bloody grim!

Muesli banana and yoghurt
Hummus on wholemeal roll
Carrot
Apple
2 nectarines
Punnet of blueberries
This evening beef stewed in red wine and root vegetables

PeachyClair · 12/02/2006 17:34

Why grim? Was lovely

Am limited somewhat by allergies (hence no butter, and only 1tbsp milk) but rest was fine. Or did Weightwatchers wreck my taste buds?

Roast was really nice tho, might sound grim but definitely not.

Tuesday having Thai and breaking the no-milk thing (will suffer!) with irish cream ice cream...

FrannyandZooey · 12/02/2006 18:27

Muesli, apple, banana, raisins, seeds, grapes, soya milk
Sandwich with quorn and cucumber
Dried apple, prunes, dried pear, apricots
Satsuma, apple, banana
Salad with feta, spinach, chickpeas, avocado, new potatoes
Hot cross bun and butter
Pints of Redbush tea with soya milk

Not bad for a day's lentil weaving.

ProfessorGrammaticus · 12/02/2006 18:35

You can put Quorn in a sandwich?

Right, add to previous post - Jamie Oliver's roast chicken with lemon, garlic and thyme, rosemary roast potatoes (5), large pile carrots and broccoli, heinz treacle pudding, 2 strawberries, glass white wine.

Also 2 rich tea bisucuits earlier.

NomDePlume · 12/02/2006 18:35

Bowl of fairtrade museli with extra dried fruit and nuts, topped with natural bio yogurt (no milk)

Organic lamb leg roast, roasted parsnips, roasted carrots, roast spuds, steamed green beans, yorkshire pud and made from scratch gravy.

1 glass of cabernet merlot

1 sml carton pure apple juice

about 2 pints of Evian

QE2 - 5 two finger kitkats ?!

NomDePlume · 12/02/2006 18:36

the lamb was from one of the farmers who is a tennant on my step-dad's land. Delicious

FrannyandZooey · 12/02/2006 18:47

Ssh - don't draw attention to the quorn, HC will come on and take the mickey of me eating processed stuff.

Yes you can get Quorn ham-style deli slices. Quite nice, actually.

moondog · 12/02/2006 22:49

What is the purpose of this soy milk anyway?
How does it taste? (I only do milk in tea and coffee)
Are dairy products (note, one does not say 'dairy' as stand alone noun. It is a bloody adjective. Really thick to misuse it.) considered that bad in small quantities??
If so,why?????

It must,by definition be a processed product.

FrannyandZooey · 12/02/2006 22:58

Was that to me, oh fellow sprouter?

Erm, well, yes, obviously it's processed. In my ideal world I would be vegan. We eat a sort of compromise between what I would eat (beansprouts) and what dp would eat (raw staek). Also, partly, between what is healthy and what is nice

Drinking soya milk instead of cow's milk is an easy way to cut down on our consumption of dairy produce. I have loads and loads of it in tea and cereal so it is not just a tiny amount. I know soya products are debatable but I feel comfortable eating them and think they do have health benefits.

There are loads of different soya milks and they all taste different. Some taste revolting to me. The one we have is called Sojasun and I find it quite sweet and pleasant.

Did my soya milk drinking offend you? Your post seemed quite vituperative!

moondog · 12/02/2006 23:00

Mais non I assure you!!!

Am always open to new ideas, but can't get my head around soy milk being better for you than a small amount of organic milk from lovely Welsh cows.

The one thing I'm struggling with at present is millet.
It is pretty grim.

FrannyandZooey · 13/02/2006 07:54

Oh Welsh cows, oh well then....

I just drink a lot of milk one way or another and it's an easy way for me to cut down on dairy products. Whatever you think of soya, it's better to eat as little dairy produce as possible IMO - it's not a particularly healthy food, or designed for us to have. I eat cheese, butter etc when I want to though, they taste so good

However if you don't have any soya products in your diet I would advise adding them, there are a lot of proven health benefits and only a few doubtful drawbacks.

Now let me put the record straight on millet - I agree with HC - it is not a food. I never eat the ruddy stuff, she just follows me round calling me a Millet Muncher (which is quite amusing I am forced to admit). Now quinoa, however, is another matter...

mcmum · 13/02/2006 09:59

well i have had one cuppa tea, 2 slives of toast and butter, i am very boring compared to to some of you, i might push the boat out and have a choc biscuit feeling naughty
