yes you can, I haven't done it myself but read something about this the other day. Apparently it goes rather like Chinese seaweed.

Cadbury · 06/02/2006 18:04

I think it will frazzle tbh, not a good idea.

Carmenere · 06/02/2006 18:05

Yes, yes, yes! Roasted brocolli is really delicious, I do it at least once a week.

brimfull · 06/02/2006 18:06

what does it turn out like carmanere? does it go like Chinese seaweed, if so what the hell is that like?! i roast the usual, peppers, squash (all the time!) onions, carrotts, leeks,, corgettes , tomatoes etc etc. id love to roast broccolli if i knew it was a good bet. i like it but dont really like "plain boiled " veg

brimfull · 06/02/2006 18:09

does it take the same time as peppers?

yes! there's a lovely delia recipe with cauliflower & brocolli roasted with garlic, cumin & corriander.

singersgirl · 06/02/2006 18:39

Yes, we do the Delia recipe and it's v. good. Never roasted broccoli by itself, though.

Skribble · 06/02/2006 18:52

I tend to put the brocolli in after the peppers has been in a while.

brimfull · 07/02/2006 00:07

well buggered them up ,they tasted shite

put them in with the peppers, they came out all chewy and dried up.

Yep done that too, I usually steam them in the microwave for best results. Depends how crunchy you like them, if you roast them long enough to soften the thick bits the ends get frazzled if they still look nice and green they are usually still pretty raw but I like them that way.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 07/02/2006 23:09

Roasted broccoli is delish!

Cristina7 · 07/02/2006 23:11

No, steam, boil or stir-fry. Steaming is best.

brimfull · 07/02/2006 23:18

roasting definately didn't work ,the curly ends were burnt, the stock end was chewy...yeuch!
