Okay so I want to make little chocolate lego men for the dc's for easter and hide tiny presents inside, I have this mould, but how can I put a back on it so it is closed? Am lost.

Can you make a frame, or use a lid that matches the rectangle backing and then cut the shape from that once set, then attach with melted chocolate?

Ideally what I wanted to do was just have it the shape of the lego man iyswim? Is that too ambitious? The rectangle that the figure is on looks kind of rounded in the picture, but is flat in reality.

Is it going to be big enough to put something in once it is lined with a decent thickness of chocolate?

There are 2 alternatives, you could either make solid figures in the mould - just fill it up to a reasonable depth, or else you could make 2, put the present in, and stick them together back to back.

Would either of those work?

Usually you make 2 and stick them together by brushing the edges of the hardened shapes with melted chocolate. - at least that is how you do eggs so I presume you could do the same with the lego men.

What alison said or get some baking paper and spread some chocolate out on it with a spatula so it's bigger than the lego man, so a few layers so it's thick enough to handle. Once the lego man has set, with a hot knife cut the flat chocolate to size and peel from the paper. Brush the edges of the lego man with melted chocolate and stick the back to it.

Is considerably bigger than a lego man Grin and gifts are weeny so they will fit fine.

at put two back to back, I KNEW there was a logical solution. Will do that if possible, if not will try the layering thing.

Thank you so muchSmile
