HELP! There is poo inside my chicken!!!

Just bought a free range chicken and started to joint it and wondered what the awful smell was. Looked inside and there is chicken poo inside it Will it be ok to eat if I wash it? I can't get the smell of my hands so don't know how a wash under the tap will get rid of it...

I wouldn't. The intestines must have been damaged when they were taking them out. Isn't that an e-coli risk?

I'm not a chicken expert so may be wrong.

It might be a good idea to repost this in 'Chicken Keepers'. They'd probably know.

Chicken poo can have nasties in it. I wouldn't eat it.
