Just bought a whole ready cooked chicken from Tesco. It says on label must be eaten on day of purchase.

I was thinking it would be ok to put in fridge and use for sandwiches tomorrow but now Im unsure? is this unsafe to do?

I regularly buy the cooked chickens from tesco and safely use for a few days after purchase. In fact I bought one on Sunday and we finished the remains of the soup I made from the stock yesterday. I think they key is to cool it quickly and keep it in the fridge.

They are also fine to freeze. I checked with the lady on the counter and have been doing it for years without ill effect.
