Rib eye steak plus?? on the side

It's DH's birthday, so we are in the market for a really really nice still mooing rib eye steak. Ordinarily I'd serve up with sautes/home made chips and a salad, but just wondered if anyone had any other ideas on a suitable serving?

Important that the steak is "au natrel" ie. no fancy sauces etc, as it is stonking steak that speaks for itself and is best left alone, but just wanted to be a bit more exciting than chips and salad to go with....

We tend to make a warm potato salad, made with good Mayo & olive oil with a hint of garlic. Then get some really nice tomatoes & make tomato salad. Yum!

brocolli (purple sprouting) cooked until just tender and then tossed in mixture of garlic, anchovies, chilli and lemon

patatas probres (potatos braised with peppers)

Mash and spinach and a big fat mushroom

( but serve mash separately as pink mash is really not appetising )

Oh grief, all sound perfect, salivating now in anticipation. Now I can't choose which!!

Stuffed peppers are perfect with a steak - halve a red pepper through the stalk, cut out White bits, then in each half put chopped cherry/normal tomatoes, a chopped clove of garlic, a couple of anchovy fillets, pepper, a bit of olive oil and a basil leaf if you have it. Roast for about an hour (at the same time as wedges maybe) and serve with the steak and a green veg like asparagus or sprouting broccoli.

Proper homemade onion rings with it.

Jacket potato and pan fried beans or asparagus wrapped in bacon.

We have rib eye steaks tonight too. I thought I knew what we were having with them but may be changing my mind!

We have steak with grilled toms and pan fried courgette and mushrooms.

You have to have chips with steak!

gotta be french fries, i say.

I am with the chips brigade. Steak. Chips. Salad. Life doesn't get more exciting IMO.
