Chicken casserole question

I'm cooking a chicken casserole - drumsticks, leg bits, rice and veggies in chicken stock. Sort of all thrown in together. It's been in the oven for about 45 mins now, and I'm about to get daughter from school.

Can I just leave it in the oven on a low heat until dinner time or will it go dry and revolting? OR on the other hand will it go all luscious and scrumptious?

I've just checked it and the chicken and rice are cooked and it's still quite liquidy.

Any thoughts?

Switch the oven off and leave in there? I think it would go quite stodgy if you left it in?

I cook my chickencasseroe for 1.5 hrs if that helps.

Yes, stodge. Good point.

Right have turned it off. Will eat it in about 1.5 hrs, will either be delish or foul and the dog can have it :)

Thanks girls.

What was it like??!

Not great to be honest. I made the kids and dh eat it though Grin. Full of vitamins but a bit tasteless (I forgot salt) and overcooked rice.

I think it would have been fine if I'd cooked the rice separately. Still we live and learn eh girls.

We have some leftovers so will give the dds the chicken tonight and the dog can have the rice.
