hello,

wondering what kind of stuff would be ok?

she has rusks, bits of banana or pear or peach (most of which is squished into carpet)

gave her some lychee yesterday, went well, think she thought it was a toy though. hmmm.

At that age I gave mine an entire soft nectarine and just let her get on with it. Hugely messy but she loves it. Takes about 15 minutes to suck it down to the pip. Luckily the pip is rather large so you don't have to worry too much about choking.
If you know what Biltong is, ( I'm from South Africa) - they also love to chew on that. Keeps mine quiet for ages.

What about some toast? DS2 (8.5 months) loves it. Fruit is always a winner.

tofu cubes
blueberries and raspberries
halved grapes
very thin slices of cheese if you are doing dairy
breadsticks - they can wear away at them
