stupid question possibly ... freezing in sandwich bags?

I made lots of extra cauliflower cheese today for Mother's Day lunch with a view to freezing some of it. I had asked DH to get freezer bags for this purpose, just found out he chose to get tesco value sandwich bags instead as they are cheaper.

Will dreadful things occur if I freeze the cauliflower cheese in portions in the sandwich bags?
Google seems to be neutral on the matter.

I'd have thought that, as long as they are properly sealed, it wouldn't matter. I use Ziploc sandwich bags for the freezer as well as everything else.

I do all the time and I haven't noticed any difference in the quality of the food.

Do you mean the value bags that are about 57p per roll? If so, they are fine. I use these all the time to freeze stuff.

I hate fairies. Especially the freezer ones. They remind me of wasps.

as i thought - stupid question (though I am now very concerned about fairies). I wondered as the bags are very thin (yes the 57p-a-roll value ones) and a different material to freezer bags, not really plasticy, more like a thin filmy supermarket veg bag IYSWIM.

Am off to freeze stuff (and possibly nibble more cauliflower cheese ...)
