Half a pack of Puff Pastry? DS2 used the other half for cookery yesterday to top a bacon-and-mushroom pie. I thought of jam puffs but ds3 doesn't like jam.

cut into to thin strips, smear in pesto top with grated chedder, twist them round , bake and then your have made a cheesy pesto straw.

Cut into rounds, fill with very cooked down red onion and a blob of goats cheese. Bake.

Mash up a beaten egg, some feta and some spinich, cut squares, fill with mix and fold over to make a triangle shape. Bake.

Get a tin of basic / value chutney or relish. Stir in a chopped chilli (or two!) and some crushed garlic and grated cheese.

Speed over the pastry leaving an inch at the edges.

Top with goats cheese and red onion and brush edges with milk and bake for 15/20 mins until the edges have puffed up and the cheese melted. drizzle with balsamic glaze. Yum.

Roll flat, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll up and cut into 2cm lengths.
Put on baking tray with spiral side up, brush with egg & bake, yummy!

Eccles cakes!

captainmummy · 16/03/2012 14:52

These all sound yum. Loony - I'd forgotten those! We called them 'swine ohr' - pigs ears (cos of the shape not the taste)

Eccles cake are out cos ds3 doesn' tlike raisins. He's a fussy so-and-so on occasion. The dc are having pesto pasta tonight, but might do cheesey straws too.

Worth buying some puff pastry to do some of these I think!

My suggestion: thinly sliced aubergine, garlic, oregano, olive oil and mozzarella. Bake in the oven.
