Recipe for beef

I got about 800g of stewing beef short-dated and it is now in the freezer waiting for inspiration to strike. I normally do a wintry stew with lots of carrots and turnips, but it feels like spring is round the corner and I'd like to try something else. What is your favourite beef recipe?

Oh it's deevine!

Stew with thyme and a couple of finely chopped anchovies. They melt into the sauce, and don't add a strong anchovy taste, just lots of flavour. I do it in a 'slow' oven overnight with foil between the casserole and its lid to give a good seal.

Its basically a beef stew with lots of herbs, pearl barley, cheese, worcester sauce, and stout, and a pastry made with flour suet butter and egg.

I agree, definetly spring like, even up here. I'm trying this reciepe as I just got a delivery from the online butcher. Anything that can be put in the over and slow cook ofr ohours on a sunday works for me all washed down with a very pleasnt glass of something.

I like slow cooked beef with lots of chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, garlic and herbs - yum! No recipe per se, just chuck it all in!
