Zyliss Susi 2 Garlic Press owners... here a minute...

I've just replaced mine and the new one has arrived with a blue plastic thingy on the inside which looks a lot like a brush. Are you supposed to detach it? I'm asking because I've given it a few good pulls and it's not budging

Not sure I have exactly that one, but the blue plastic bit on mine is for pushing out the stuck-in garlic skins... so yes, would expect it to budge. But you push it onto the outside, so not sure why yours is inside

Thanks. I actually ended up on the Zyliss website and the answer was... yes it does detach with a little brute force.

I used the little blue bit for the first time yesterday. Had the press for over a year
But that was because I had left the garlic skins in the press overnight
