Breakfast alternatives for 1yo with wheat problems

DS3 has just turned 1 but has problems with weetabix as although he is not allergic to gluten but has to keep it to a minimum - 1 piece of bread is okay but more than that and his nappies are horrendous (and has tummy cramps). DS1 and 2 have never had a problem and as so many cereals have heavy wheat base, what alternatives can I give him?

not sure what the gluten content of oatybix are? you can also look at the "Free from" ranges in the supermarket.

porridge/Readybrek?

It might be seomthing he'll grow out of. I remember weetabix use to make my DS sick when he was little (though he was fine with the organic version) but he's fine with it now.

In the meantime how about porridge? Or buy some gluten free bread and make him toast? Maybe pad it out with a banana?

Porridge (make in microwave)
Yoghurt and fruit
Scrambled egg (microwave - he won't care if it's a bit rubbery, prob make it easier to pick up)
Boiled egg
Rice crispies with banana (rice not very filling I find)
Baked beans (with optional toast)
