What do you cook when your DCs friends come to tea?

I usually do a pizza with cucumber/carrot batons etc or pasta with pesto/tomato sauce and garlic bread. Boring I know, but I'd rather it's get eaten.

Spaghetti Bolognaise always seems to be a winner, and I can cook it a day or two before and just reheat, so no faffing around.

nachos - lightly spiced mince with salsa and a bag of tortilla chips layered together - topped with cheese and microwaved.

fajitas - lightly spiced chicken chunks with peppers in wraps

salmon in a paper bag with lemon and new potatoes.

Or for the less adventurous friends - spag bol, pizza (let them make their own), mac&cheese, meatballs, sausage pasta bake, roast chicken with chips and gravy.

My girls are 9 and 11 now so the menu has got more adventurous over the years...

I just read the thread title and couldn't help thinking "kids for tea .. well, ok but I'm not sure I could eat a whole one" Grin bad joke, sorry! My DCs seem to have quite fussy friends, so I usually go with the easy option like stringcheese said - pizza, crudites (which only my DCs eat!), ice cream and nice fruit like strawberries, melon etc.
