What to do with a whole pineapple?

Apart from that!

My local Aldi were selling whole fresh pineapples for 89p & my 4 year old was fascinated with them. He can't remember having any before. He has & picked it off his pizza because he didn't like it, but if he's interested in a food again then I'll happily accommodate that.

So, what can I make with pineapple that may tempt him more than ham & pineapple pizza?

Could you go all 70s and do a pineapple and cheese hedgehog?

justabigdisco · 25/02/2012 09:19

I chop them up and blend with banana, juice and a bit of yoghurt for smoothies. You can freeze the chunks, although I've only used frozen ones in smoothies so dunno what they come out like.

although mine picks the pineapple off that too Hmm

Upside down cake & smoothies it is. I used to love upside down cake as a kid :)

Cook rings in a pan with a little honey til they caramalise, then serve with vanilla ice-cream.

Ooo Squiggle that sounds lovely!

You can add chunks to a stir-fry. Yum.

I have a back up plan incase he tastes a tiny bit and decides he still doesn't like it. Spiced Pineapple Chutney

Send it to me...I'm 39 weeks today and beginning to get uncomfortable and bored+++++

Sorry, not helpful! I'd go with the upside down pudding, or sweet and sour :)
