Was it as vile as it looks?

Oh god yes - as a child we'd have it in thick slices - it looked like carpet underlay. My dad would do it with a thick white sauce with lashings of parsley in it. And for extra 'bleurgh' he'd add 'cowheel' ..... and that's a whole other thread [sick emoticon]

My ex-bf was brazilian and tripe was a favourite of his family's. One day I was walking to his and could actually smell the tripe from the bottom of the street!!! Needless to say I didn't stay for dinner that night!

Another favourite of theirs was pigs ears and trotters unsurprisingly I lost a lot of weight during that relationship!
