Am going out this evening to a friend's house and want to take a plate of something. No idea what hostess has got planned, but it will be v casual and she is not the type to be stressed if I bring something that doesn't go.

Am thinking a plate of something to have with a glass of wine.

Wondering whether to make dolmades with tzatziki?

But I fancy something cheesier.

Must be veggie.

Got loads of time to shop and cook and don't mind putting some effort in.

Ideas?

Oh what about a baked camembert? That's always nice.

For another time I was going to suggest stuffed baby potatoes. Fiddly but different. Using an apple corer, remove a plug from the centre of cooked, waxy, one/two bite, baby potatoes. Cut off the ends off the tube of potato and reserve. Plug one end of the hole with a reserved end, stuff the centre with cream cheese mixed with chives and garlic, then plug the other end. Sprinkle on some coarse salt and pepper and bake to heat everything through.

Oh yum. Am going to remember that for another time.
