I have just seen an advert for Asdas chose by you range and how its all near enough a £1 each I think it said. Just wondered if any one has used it and if it is any good?

It is just me and a fussy 2 year old at home so I don't need t spend a lot. How much is average for one adult and toddler?

It's fine, although don't be fooled, a lot of it is re-labelled Asda smartprice stuff! I use Asda for most of my basics and think they are great.

I haven't found a chosen by you item yet that has tasted nice. I can recommend sainsburys basics though.

eating basics lemon curd as I type yum Smile

One or 2 things are ok, but they sent me the "chosen by you" hot chocolate powder as a sub for cadbury's and it is vile, far too sweet.

pollyblue · 25/02/2012 17:12

Yes I agree with Saltire, on the whole I do like Asda, but I always find any of their own brand sweet things (including things like yoghurt) too sweet.

SparkySparrow · 25/02/2012 17:21

I quite like the Asda CBY but it depends what you buy. I don't think its that bad. But their smart price is good too!

And I am another one who like Sainbos basics!

Try the basics/smart price etc and see if you like it. It is mostly the same stuff as the next 'grade' up. Its cheap so if you don't like it its not the end of the world!

Flisspaps · 25/02/2012 17:24

Really Saltire? That's odd - ASDA should always substitute with a better quality item than the one you ordered rather than giving you a lower value/lower branded item!

OneLittleBabyGirl · 25/02/2012 19:20

Flissaps but what if they don't have any other chocolate? I've got waitrose own brand butter as a sub for anchor from ocado. Im sure it's cheaper. It's vile too! Would rather have got something like lurpak.

We tried the chosen by you crispy fried duck duck with pancakes and although it was nice (sauce was delicious) the portion size was horrendous. The pack said it served 2. I bought two as DH has a big appetite and we struggled to make the two stretch to a main meal thought maybe it is intended as a starter?

OneLittleBaby Then you don't get that item (lower value or otherwise) refund what you paid for the original and the driver tells you that it's not available as soon as they get to your house :)
