i made chilli last night....

fry 1 onion with 2 finely sliced cloves garlic and 3 tsp chilli powder
add 500g mince
cook for about 10 mins
add 1 tin chopped tomatoes
1tbs tomato puree
quarter pint of beef stock
1tsp oregano
2/3 red/green chillis(altho we only have mild chilli so left them out)

simmer for about 15 mins, add 1 tin of kidney beans and simmer for another 5 mins

i think thats it anyway

Dark chocolate right at the end. Yummy.

I fry mince, onions and garlic (and fresh chillis if I have them). Then add red and green peppers. Then add chilli powder (if no fresh ones). Then add tin of tomatoes, tin of kidney beans, tomato puree and red wine. Simmer for a while.

V. similar to mom.

I often make black bean chilli which is yummy and really cheap.
Soak approx 200g of beans over night. Change water and boil rapidly for 10 mins then simmer for 70 mins or so. In the meantime fry some chopped onion and pepper (whatever colour you fancy). I fry them for about 15 mins to get them really soft. Add either chopped chillis or chilli powder, oregano, garlic, cumin (sometimes) and a tin of toms. Simmer this till it thickens into a sauce (about 20mins I reckon). Add beans when they are cooked.
Any beans can be used instead of black beans.
I also find its better to cook it early or even the day before. gives it much better flavour

I made a bit of a mix of these and very yum So thanks to everyone!

Mostly like mumofmonsters but:
Didn't put chili at start. After adding mince I added chili powder (about 6tsp but my 2 year old still loved it, it was mild though) plus cumin and coriander
added 1.5 tin tomatoes (not enough with just 1 tin) plus 1 tin kidney beans, half tiny tin tomato puree and let it cook no beef stock or oregano

added 2 squares dark choc at end (last 5 min)

It was YUM
