I have just got into drinking hot chocolate at night. I have tried cocoa powder and find it awful.

I have found a few others - i quite like galaxy but alot of them are either too powdery or too 'claggy'

Someone recommend a really scrummy, rich, smooth one please!

Probably not blu! It tasted a bit too bitter - not creamy enough and very powdery

Ghiradelli is the American one I was thinking of.

VVV - if cocoa tasted powdery, I don't think you mixed it in enough. Put cocoa on cup, mix to 'mud' with a TINY amount of milk, and as much sugar as you want. Add hot milk and whisk, pour back into pan and whisk again, add more sugar if you want.
But then I don't like all these sickly versions people are suggesting. I quite like bitter.

The Carluccio one isn't too sweet (I find most of them sickly) and has the added bonus of being thick. You can buy it from any Carluccio's Caffe or on the website.

Whoooooosh!

try it out in the caffe first - get the cioccolata fiorentina - comes in an espresso cup ... thick, dark, hot chocolate that leaves you feeling like your oesophagus has been coated in a warm blanket mmmmmmmmmmmmm

(just come back from there myself )

caotina but I don't think you can get it here

ooh, a thread after my own heart. Caotina is pretty tasty as is Suchard. I'm sure there is another one too but will have to investigate !

The best hot chocolate I've come across is to be had at the Hotel Jungfrau, Wengernalp, on the railway above the ski resort of Wengen in Switzerland . You get a pot of hot chocolate and a huge dish of whipped fresh cream to mix in. Sit outside on the terrace on a crisp, snowy, blue sky day in the sun facing the Eiger and Jungfrau peaks.....

posts crossed ! The other one I'm thinking of is available in Waitrose iirc ! Might even be Caotina....
