Sugar beet syrup

I thought I was buying Golden Syrup but ended up with this

It isn't golden syrup :( Can anyone suggest any uses for it, in cooking? I tasted it and it tastes a bit like a sticky toffee pudding, but no idea how to turn it into one!

I bought it to put on my porridge, but not sure I really like the taste enough for that.

Use it instead of sugar if you make bread.

I've done exactly the same thing! I live in Luxembourg and wanted to make a Parkin cake for bonfire night, it was labelled goldsaft, which with my limited German I thought meant golden syrup. It tasted ok in the cake but the remainder is still in the cupboard. Would also welcome any suggestions!

Glad I am not the only one - I was also caught out by the "Goldsaft" label (am in Germany).

DH reckons we should try spreading it on pancakes tomorrow. I doubt we will manage the whole tub though!

I don't make my own bread - didn't even know breadmaking involved sugar.
