I'm thinking of buying this for the curry recipes mainly.

Is it any good?

I have this one and it's good

Sure it's not authentic, but tastes like takeway :)

I bought the book for my BIL at Christmas and he is working his way through it and all has had a big thumbs up so far.

yes I have it and love it. Had to buy the onion powder on eBay.

There is a fab thread on MSE about it

I keep looking at this book and wondered if it was any good.

I've made curries, chinese, cookies, muffins, kebabs and burgers - all taste authentic but I know the ingredients are good and food not swimming in fat. Definitely worth it in my opinion. There is a base curry sauce you make, freeze in portions then use it to start other curry recipes - is worth it for that alone I reckon.

Anjum Annand has some good curry recipes (and a few books!)

hatchypom · 19/02/2012 09:49

You can find the kris Dillon book for free download somewhere can't remember where. It's fab

doblet · 19/02/2012 09:54

Dh gets onion powder from the supermarket, don't know if it's a special one you need though.

redlac · 19/02/2012 10:02

The wedges and chicken nuggets are fabulous!

MissVerinder · 19/02/2012 19:37

That's sorted, then, I'll definitely order it. Thank you!

I'll report back when I've tested the first recipe!

It's my best used cookbook Blush

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 21/02/2012 16:47

Some of my photographs are on that MSE link above!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/02/2012 17:13

It does look appealing. Is there much in it for vegetarians though? We occassionally eat chicken (not often as it's so expensive!) but no other meat/fish, so I'm curious as to whether there'd be much in it for us?

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 21/02/2012 18:56

There is at least 1 veg curry in it, as I have tried it :) Also veg pakoras, egg fried rice, garlics mushrooms. veggie pizzas, naan breads, garlic bread, in fact most of the side dishes are veggie. The majority of the meat dishes are chicken with a few chinese pork and burgers too.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 21/02/2012 18:56

Plus its only about £3.50 to buy! Not much wasted if you only use it for a few recipes.

Thanks for that HowToLookGoodGlaikit :)

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 23/02/2012 14:35

Its also £1.99 if you have The Works near you.
