Mince that's been in the freezer since September?

I've been poorly for the last couple of days and was looking for something easy I could stick in the slow cooker for later, I have the ingredients for Spag Bol, but on digging in the freezer the mince is a bit ancient.

I also have quorn mince, would that work in the slow cooker?

yes (but no being veggie Grin)

and yes, quorn is great in a slow cooker

is fine - freezer food has dates because it degrades in appearance/texture not in safety i.e. food gets freezer burn but is perfectly safe to eat.

I think mince is probably fine up to about 6 months/1 year before degrading.

Thank you, I'm veggie and a bit over cautious sometimes with meat.
