What would you serve for a 'light supper'?

DH has invited the committee members of a society he is in round for a meeting with a 'light supper' beforehand (his words, not mine!). What would you say this means?

At the moment, I am thinking a fairly chunky soup (minestrone, chowder etc.), crusty bread, cheese, cold meats etc. followed by cake and traybakes. Do you think that would be appropriate?

BTW it is mid-week and not formal at all, they are all mates.

Thanks for any pointers (or recipes!)!
