Will my dinner be ready in time.......???

Have bunged it all in the slow cooker half an hour ago (stew) set it on high.

Will it be ready about 6?

(First time I've used it btw)

From where I'm sitting you have 8 hours to get it cooked!!! So glad I could assist!! Seriously, 3 hours should do it just fine. Wait to see for other responses, I don't have a slow cooker.

Did you brown the meat first? Mine would take longer than that TBH, but I do usually start it on low.

if you'r doing beef I would ahve thought that it would take longer than 3 Hrs in a slow cooker - -I do mine for 2.5 hrs in the oven

I don't think 3 hours will be long enough - minimum, depending on the cut of meat for mine would be 5 hours on high.
