Do pureed dates that you can't taste count as fruit? If not then this. (make the sauce at home and just reheat it on the hob or in microwave when needed)

Alternatively, the chocolate equivalent has no dates.

Tiramisu

chocolate mousse

Does lime juice count as fruit?

Mascarpone & lime cheesecake

I think lime counts as a fruit!?

What's the deal with fruit anyway?

pugh · 28/01/2012 23:12

No idea. Have made brownies before but first time we are going over to eat. Luckily I asked if there were any food issues/avoidance...irony is I'm trying to avoid carbs. Can't see it happening. Nigel slater also did a self saucing choc pud in a magazine a while ago but maybe bit tricky to make before hand...

Ah, OK I see. I hadn't twigged that the hosts specified no fruit sorry Blush. Tricky if they didn't give a reason. One of my relatives won't eat any fruit, but orange/lemon/lime juice in something would be no issue and neither would undetectable dates. I guess you have to play safe if you don't know why.

No carbs and no fruit is v hard

WoollyHead · 28/01/2012 23:29

Aha, I have it! Sugar-free jelly Grin. That surely contains no actual fruit?

pugh · 28/01/2012 23:43

I think it's going to b chic mousse from igella express... Ages since I made it and have all the ingredients. V funny re sugar free jelly!!
