this one

I have put the onion, chilli etc in the food processor but I just have a chopped up mess and not a paste.

What am I doing wrong?

Could you try and rechop it if your processor has a smaller bowl? Or one of those stick blenders?

I don't think that it will make a lot of difference to the finished dish if the paste is a little chunkier, might just need a bit longer to soften the garlic etc.

Its not going to be like the paste you get in a jar. It will be messier and chunkier. It will meld together more if you add oil, but don;t need to do that as you are frying it in oil anyway.

It isn't wrong, "paste" is a very loose term with home cooking.

And can I come round please? It sounds delish.

Tell me about these crispy prawns.

Crunchy opossums Grin

ShineYourButtonsWithBrasso · 28/01/2012 21:41

Prawns were cooked and then dipped in a chilli and flour and then deep fried in a hot wok.

It was all very nice but I am very full and DH is now snoring like a hibernating beer Grin
