and it was a success - very yummy indeed but receipe said 10 minutes prep 10 - my arse, 10 minutes!

I am a disaster in the kitchen normally so was very pleased with success.

Was not pleased with dp's "this is really nice babe, thanks" I felt like throwing it in his lap and screeming "I spent f*ing hours cooking that, go and all you can manage is a 'Thanks Babe'" have decided being a domestic goddess is a thankless task and not all it's cracked up to be. He can get a kebab tonight on his way home and have done with it!

Fancy sharing your recipe?

Its a low fat receipe and off top of my head to serve 6 I think it was

1kg of topside or round steak trimmed of fat and sinew cut into 2cm cubes
3 rashers of bacone with rind removed cut into 2cm squares
12 pickling oinions (I used shallots)
200g button mushrooms
250ml of red wine
500ml beef stock
flour seasoned with salt and pepper
1tsp dried thyme
2 bay leaves (which I didn't have)
1 tblsp oil

So

lightly toss the diced beef in the seasoned flour and shake off excess

I used a soup pan as you need a big pan

Heat the oil
quickly cook the bacon over medium height and remove
Brown well the beef in batches and remove from heat
add the onions to the pan and cook until golden
and back the meat and all the other ingredients
bring to the boil
cover and simmer stirring occassioanlly for 1hr30mins or until meant is tender

I think that's right
