Help! Have to feed 6 adults and 9 children (age 7-15) for Sunday meal . Any suggestion s ? Should I do separate something for kids? Homemade pizzas ? They not going to want to hang round with adults for long!

yy roast would be a nightmare.

I'd do a chilli or a pasta dish with salad and garlic bread etc, then the kids will eat it too.

Sausage casserole. its the one dish we have served uo to all our friends that NOONE has disliked. you can do seperate veggive version, and its a piece of piss to make!

agree with hully. do a big baked pasta dish. you could prep it all before.
salad etc. lovely

cobwebthegrey · 27/01/2012 12:55

Oh and its healthy, so you can have something stinkinly faattening for pud!

I agree, a roast would be a hassle for that many people. How about some really good sausages? Put them in trays, drizzle them with honey, blob on some mustard and bake in the oven for about half an hour / until they're cooked. For the kids, maybe leave off the honey and the mustard.

Serve with salad, crusty bread, oven-baked jacket potatoes and a vat of baked beans. Job done. :)

Something I often do for large numbers and mixed tastes, is make a large pot of Mexican beans, another pot of just veg (divide the veg in two before adding the beans to one), then bung a load of chicken in the oven (to be cut up), make some guacamole, a tom and cuc cut up tiny salad, get some sour cream and grate a load of cheese. Last minute cook loads of wraps. Put the whole lot on the table and everyone makes the variant of wrap that they like.
You could do rice too.

You can make everything the day before except the salad, guacamole and wraps.

oh do that posh macaroni that Lorraine Pascal does. Super delish.

Smile thanks ,great ideas , it's so much nicer to do all prep in advance and bung on table so can enjoy the company . Mexican theme sounds good with mild chilli , jackets or rice , salads and bread, or sausages ?? Feeling pecking now!
