red velvet cake

ive just made the hummingbird red velvet cupcakes and i must say i'm not that impressed. i LOVE all the other hummingbird recipes but these taste like horlicks. i don't mind horlicks but i dont think id eat a whole cupcake worth of horlicks flavoured cake.

so does anyone have another good recipe?

I love the Hummingbird recipe, it's really just a red chocolate cake. I don't get a Horlicks taste, I don't like Horlicks...

On a related matter, did you manage to find any properly red food colouring? Since Dr Oetker went all natural my red velvet cakes come out muddy brown instead.
