I bought sour cream for fajitas then friends cancelled and I'm not keen on it what can I do with it?

Why would you bin it?!

use it to make a nice pasta carbonara

or pour it over chopped fruit with honey for your DC for pudding

mix it with chives, herbs or garlic for a lovely dip

use it instead of mayonaise for a nice coleslaw

dump it in a blender with some bananas, other soft fruit and honey for a lovely smoothie.

Basically just use it instead of yoghurt/cream/mayo

or you could make some delicious naan bread using it, instad of yoghurt.

Sour cream lasts ages. Ignore the use by date - I regularly use it at least 2 weeks beyond this and its fine. (sniff.dip finger in to test)

Its fab in anything you'd use creme fraiche in, for sauces esp pasta

can you tell if it goes off? I'd (probably) notice if it was furry, but does it taste more sour if it's off? Confused

I add leftover sour cream to any cheesey sauce for pasta, or any tomatoey pasta sauce too come to think of it!

Theres a recipe for chocolate cupcakes on hood food online which uses sour cream. Search under easy baking in the cake section.
