Wonton wibble

To celebrate chinese new year and to clear the damn freezer of those 'nice idea at the time' wonton wrappers , me and DC will be making wonton soup today.

I want unchallenging, child-friendly flavours.

We searched for a youtube recipe, and faithfully picked up the recommended items in the shop.

In the cold light of day: hoisin sauce inside a wonton? Is this legit and/or tasty? Or is it an abomination, and an example of the corrosive influence that you tube can expose our children to.

Base will be chicken - plus some combo of spring onion carrot and brocoli.

Ahhh - and a happy year of the dragon to yous too - ya spoilsports. I blame you all if my YouTube wontons are revolting. That means you.

Won't anyone think of the children? Their sad little faces if they make yucky wontons? Their salty tears seasoning the soup...

hoisin sauce is yummy! We use it to coat ribs and then cook them slowly in the oven. I am sure they will be delish

(little hug to Seona)

It made sense to me yesterday - kind of like a ketchup substitute - but I'm worried that they will make the inside of the wonton an off-putting black.

Kids have already vetoed ginger, chilli or lemongrass as ingredients - so I'm choosing between very plain or very black.
