Friends coming for lunch, 'Steak Sandwich' recipes?

Got friends coming over for lunch this Wednesday, nothing formal, just a chance for a catch up, a cuppa and some lunch before the school run.

Was thinking of offering up a chicken, crispy bacon and avocado salad, as well as some sort of steak on ciabatta sandwich, and a homemade chocolate eclair for afters? But how would I make it more than a steak sandwich? I don't want to do nothing to OTT as they don't have the most refined palettes in the world bless them Grin hence why I invited them

One doesn't like cheese, so I suppose I could leave that off hers if anybody comes back with a cheesy option!

Thanks for any ideas!

sounds lovely. In my honest opinion, I'm not sure I would serve a chicken salad and steak sandwich - I'd either serve a chicken salad or a steak sandwich with side salad - but that's not what you asked!! Just trying to save you some work/expense.

Steak sandwich - maybe onions and mushrooms, and either mayonnaise or bearnaise sauce?

I say just go for the steak sandwich - good baguettes, decent steak (fillet or even minute steak), slow-cooked onions and plenty of mustard and ketchup - yum!

Maybe have some salad/rocket on the side, or fruit for pudding. Eclairs sound fab, but may be a bit of a faff, what about brownies or chocolate cake instead?
