I have a 3year old and a 5yr old, both selective eaters!! What are your top 3 dinners?

For main courses --

gammon steak is a big winner
baked macaroni and cheese
fritatta (although sadly DD has gone off this entirely)
meatballs (make a batch and freeze in portions; serve with pasta)

One thing she will almost always eat is roasted sweet potato. Wash, cut in chip-size pieces, drizzle with olive oil, and roast on gas 8 or so for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Kind of rounds out the meal and, as starches go, it's pretty virtuous.

I also cook a big pot of lentils with as little water as possible, then melt in some cheese (add vegetables if you want) and puree. It started off as baby food but DD still loves it at 2 -- I freeze it in portions so there's always something for her if I haven't cooked. I realize not all children eat lentils. . .

Chicken and fresh chicken noodles, with pan fried veg. They both eats two bowls!

Butternut squash Risotto - annabell Karmel

Good old bangers and mash Grin

Fish pie, made with half smoked haddock and half any firm white fish. My 3 yr old cannot get enough of this. Nor can I. And (seasonally appropriate), haggis with mashed swede.

Other things that are always a success:

Cauliflower cheese
Lentil and bacon soup
Sausage and puy lentil stew (with lemon, pancetta and thyme - yum)
Risotto, especially pumpkin, but she also likes chicken and pea
Just about anything with rice - mainly curry, although today is was leftover bolognese sauce made with buffalo mince. DD was a bit confused and thought it was Gruffalo mince, but wolfed it down nonetheless and came back for seconds.

If all else fails, ham sandwiches.

Pasta and pesto with peas and bacon/ sausage. Also often add broccoli.

Sausage and mash with veg.
