What do your DCs have for breakfast. DH let's DS have frosties and does not believe me when I say they are really unhealthy for DS (3).

mine have a mix of rice krispies multi-grain shapes, cheerios, cookie crisp, weetos, etc. I dont buy frosties, sugar puffs, etc as these are even higher in sugar than what I already buy.

Mine seem to have given up on cereal so have toast and marmite/jam.

Toast with butter, shreddies, honey loops, rice crispies, crunchy nut cornflakes occasionally, porridge, this morning DD had a boiled egg and some toast and DS had beans on toast. Weekends I may make pancakes, bacon sandwiches, sausages, Sunday they have breakfast after their swimming lesson.

DS (3) loves bircher muesli (grated apple, berry muesli, yoghurt - make a pot of it and the muesli softens and it lasts 2 or three days in fridge)
DD (4) loves porridge with stirred in grated apple and mashed banana

in addition they get a choice of (depending on time, day and appetite and availability):

toast selection (jam/marmite/honey/nutella/peanut butter etc)
spaghetti on toast
beans on toast
dippy eggs
scrambled eggs on toast
french toast
pancakes with banana, maple syrup and bacon
crackers with slices of cheese and ham
bacon or sausages sandwiches
cheese/ham toasties
jam pitta pockets
yoghurts
organix fruit pots
cheese and ham omelette

my dc love breakfast and will often have less for lunch as a result, but we get them dressed first and make quite a family meal of it!
