Can you freeze chicken without cooking it, if it has already been defrosted?

I just defrosted some chicken overnight and have just made it into some chicken burger shapes with beans and onion.

Do I have to cook the chicken burgers now or can I refreeze them again?

TIA

You need to cook them before refreezing.

Thanks RockStock :)

Darn! I was thinking I was being all organised and making food for my LO (1yo) in advance...

Will they be OK if I stick them in the fridge now and cook them this evening?

Yeah they'll be fine. Once you've cooked them, they can be shoved in the oven from frozen anyway, so you have been unintentionally organised after all Grin

thanks - sorry but just to be sure, do you mean I can refreeze them again once I've cooked them?

Yep. Cook them as you would normally, once cool, put them in the freezer. Separate each one between greasproof paper, then you can get what you need easily, without having to defrost the lot.

thank you so much!

Have to get LO from nursery now so have left burgers in fridge and will cook them later. Feel much reassured.
