I ordered this in my tesco order, and it was substituted with this one. Do you think I could get away with doing the chicken and bacon ingredients but making the hotpot sauce instead? The only other thing I could possibly substitute is a creamy peppercorn sauce mix, but I suspect it might be too spicy for DS. Or I could make some kind of sauce with milk, maybe ... ? Only problem is I can't eat cheese so that doesn't leave a lot to thicken or flavour the sauce with.

I might be able to get DP to go to the supermarket at some point, but I can't drive myself and we are trying to save money, so would like to avoid if possible. But perhaps it might be easier to just recycle the ingredients into something else.

I think it will be fine, I often put bacon into the hot pot I make (home made) so I think it will be nice, with your original ingredients for the other one. I also use a lot of packet mixes and have swapped them round a lot and its all been ok! If you have carrots etc chuck them in as well, if not just leave it as you planned!

Think it'll be fine.

Alternatively, if you specifically fancied a creamy sauce (with no cheese) maybe you could just do a white sauce (flour/butter/milk) and flavour it with some garlic/herbs?

Thanks :)
