'tidy' savoury snacks with no pastry?

DH works long days several times a week, and wants a 'second breakfast' after his commute. For a while, he's been getting a savoury croissant in Pret on those days, but wants to cut back on the cost and the fat! He has asked me what else he can take, and I am stumped.

He already takes a sandwich and a piece of fruit, and can make coffee at work, but needs a savoury snack that is
a. filling
b. tidy to eat (so portable and can be picked up with his hands without covering his suit in sauce!)
c. isn't a quiche or a scone.

It can't be too unusual sounding either, as he is quite fussy (so no quinoa, no cous cous, no multiple seeds). I did some sandwiches with different fillings this past week, but they are dull, time consuming, and I would prefer something I can batch cook at the weekend and just pop in his lunchbox.

I'm going to try some savoury muffins for this week, as have most of the ingredients, but would love some other ideas, if anybody has some?

thanks in advance :)
