As title really.

DS has a 'Masterchef' challenge at scouts next week, and has 30 mins to produce a dish, with the use of only one ring. I was thinking he could perhaps do something with couscous - could take a flask of boiling water to cook it in, or maybe ready to wok noodles.

Any ideas welcome - DS is 12, and has a reasonable amount of experience cooking for the family. He tends to use every pot in the kitchen, and a lot longer than 30 mins!

Vegetarian chilli with rice. Boil water, cook rice (get the fast cook stuff) drain and put to one side. Dried soya mince, tin of tomatoes, tin of kidney beans, chilli powder bubbled for 10 mins. Job did.

thanks purple Smile

any other ideas - I want to give him a choice.

There is a £5 prize riding on the dish judged the best!

Might want to test this one but how about drop scone pizza? Cheesy scone dough cut into rounds about half an inch thick, spread with ketchup, pepperoni, ham, sweetcorn, fresh tomato, sprig of basil, drizzle of olive oil... very arty Wink

What about a potato hash of some description - he can throw in whatever he likes then - potatoes and onions as the base, then peppers, mushrooms, courgettes then cooked chicken (or raw at the start), chorizo, bacon or crumbled corned beef.

A stir-fry using straight-to-wok noodles would work too.

thanks very much both of you. He's decided on a stir fry. Will have a trial run tonight (handy as DH and I are going out so DS can cook for himself and his sister!)
