I made a stew last night. It was looking a bit sparse so I chucked in some 'soup and stew mix' lentils and um other dried pea type stuff. I looked at the packet afterwards and it says to soak overnight first and 'refresh'. Well technically I has been soaked overnight (in the stew) but I didnt rinse it or 'refresh' it. Will my stew now be full of stuff it shouldn't be?

I throw it in and don't follow the instructions and I am fine :) if it was red kidney beans that'd be different but assuming it's not, go ahead :)

Oooh, I wouldn't eat it. Some pulses, like those big white beans, can actually poison you when not soaked/cooked properly. There was some story in the Guardian ages ago.
